Summer tour officially kicked off!

First show of the third leg of Touring The Angel is in the bag, and showcased some nice and surprising additions to the setlist.

On April 27th at 9pm local time (April 28th 6am Central European time) Depeche Mode took to the stage for the first in a series of 14 shows across North America and Mexico in Mountain View, California.

The set played tonight was a slightly abbreviated version compared to earlier shows on the tour, but it featured a good handful new song choices, some of which were rumoured, and some that weren’t.

Making an appearance in the main portion of the set for the first time on this tour was Stripped, the rocked out version of In Your Room and Playing The Angel favourite Nothing’s Impossible.

The three song encore featured an acoustic version of Shake The Disease helmed by Martin, and the much talked about Photographic as well as the showstopping Never Let Me Down Again.

The absence of forthcoming single John The Revelator was another surprise
