Depeche Mode marks its 25th year of charting on Hot Dance Club Play with its 25th chart entry. “Suffer Well” (Sire/Mute) is the group’s seventh chart-topper.
The pop-synth outfit from England made its first appearance on the Club Play list the week of April 4, 1981, with “Dreaming of Me,” which peaked at a lowly No. 47. The first Depeche Mode song to top this survey was “Strangelove,” which spent three weeks at No. 1 in August 1987. It was the group’s only No. 1 in the 1980s.
HOME has received confirmation that James T. Cotton has remixed “John The Revelator”, a mix which may see the light of day as part of an upcoming download release.
Side Line Music Magazine is reporting that Mute is about to announce a “John The Revelator” digital download. While the track list is pretty standard, it does reveal that James T. Cotton has done a remix for “John The Revelator”.
For the first time ever a Depeche concert will be shown live on television. Their performance at the forthcoming Rock Am Ring appearance will be sent live on German MTV.

Depeche Mode’s show in Kansas City last night, had to be cut short because of illness. Dave Gahan, who turned 44 just the day before the show, had to leave the stage early due to what was allegedly a severe stomach infection, contracted on the band’s recent stop in Mexico for three shows.

Nov. 4th, St. Pete Beach, Florida. As Ron, the VIP host at the hotel, escorts me through to the pool area, I’m astounded by the size of this place. Biggest hotel I’ve ever been in, I think. Certainly the pinkest at any rate. Looks like a gay version of Buckingham Palace, but with a much nicer location. Ron would have fitted in well there too.
