Erasure’s testing the Best Of concept to breaking point, releasing yet another one of the kind early next year. Penned for a February 23rd release, “Total Pop! The First 40 Hits” repackages the first “Pop!” (from 1992) with all their hits since then, plus an array of news bits and pieces. Also on the cards, a new remix project. Another stop has been added to Depeche Mode’s stadium Tour Of The Universe. An additional show in Leipzig on June 8th will go on sale tomorrow, November 22nd via Eventim.de. Also announced (via dm.com) was Nancy, France on June 28th.
Hot on the heels of an extensive tour of North America and Europe, Kap10kurt has now graciously let us give you guys a track from his latest single, “Mission Complete”. For those of you who’ve been hiding out under a rock for the better part of the last couple of years, Kap10kurt is a Swiss born New Yorker, who’s been heavily involved in most things Mode as of late. Whether helping out on Depeche Mode demos, or playing live with or remixing for Gahan, analogue godliness is always certain to follow in his wake!
Depeche Mode will visit Jose Zorrilla Stadium in Valladolid, Spain on their forthcoming Tour Of The Universe, according to Spanish press. An exact date is still to be confirmed, but expect it to be on or around July 7th of next year.
On Nov. 3rd, everybody’s favourite label, Mute, released the BBC Radiophonic Workshop - A Retrospective. Now, for those unfamiliar with the BBC workshop, this is was arguably the birthplace of electronic music half a century ago. This retrospective album spans the entire lifetime of the workshop, with classic, extremely rare and previously unavailable sounds and music by the legendary BBC organization.
Speaking to NME.COM, Ben Garrett explained that the veteran has contributed vocals to a track called ‘Visitor’, after walking in while producer and ex-Clor guitarist Luke Smith was working on the song in his New York studio.
