The Saturdays have announced that they are providing the official single for this year’s Comic Relief. The girlband will follow in the footsteps of Girls Aloud, Sugababes and the Spice Girls by releasing the charity record this March. The song, a cover of Depeche Modes ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’, will be the main single for the 2009 campaign.
EMI Germany hit Twitter with the first – very brief – review of “Sounds Of The Universe”. The tweet read simply: “We have just finished the listening session for the new Depeche Mode album. Wow! This is going to be a massive release.” Sounds good!
A press release has just been put out via the band’s official website, detailing the full tracklist and release date of the new album. Yay! Things are getting closer. Hit the jump – or the official site – for the full press release!
After a short break, single of the week is back, this time featuring site faves, Motor on a collaboration with Julien K. As some of you may know, Motor remixed Depeche Mode’s “Precious”, a mix Martin Gore called his favourite Depeche Mode remix ever; and their own track “YAK” was one of the highlights of the pre-show music on the last tour. The band are currently recording their 3rd album, “Metal Machine”, due out later this year, and they’ve also just remixed Kanye West for his forthcoming single.
The band recording vocals for the upcoming single, “Wrong”.
Another vid from the studio, this time is an interesting clip if Martin singing background vocals for the song “In Chains” .
Visitors from Hungary would do well to tune in to MTV’s “MTV 100%” program Friday, when Das Shadows “Navigate The Menus” sees it’s worldwide TV premiere. In Croatia, the Morning Show on Radio Northwest will carry the premiere as well. Mark the date!
More great news… Alan Wilder is officially back in the studio, working on a follow-up to 2007′s “subHuman”. Still no word on… well… anything really. We don’t know when it will be released. We don’t know what direction it will take. We don’t even know if Alan knows these things yet. Doesn’t matter! New Recoil in the works!!!
(Try saying that three times really fast… aaaanyway) In the wake of yesterday’s press release, media around the world have been picking up the story. Now most of them just reiterate what was already in the press release, so we’ll skip those, and just focus on the ones who has had a chance to talk to the band, or for some other reason, has some new details for us.
