Depeche Mode add seven additional South American dates to the tour. Dates confirmed for Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil in October. The dates follow stops in Guadalajara and Mexico City in Mexico. Hit the jump for dates!

Two spanish dates announced for November

Local ticket agents announced two additions to Tour Of The Universe: Valencia’s Feria de Valencia on November 12th and Barcelona’s Palau Sant Jordi on November 20th. Tickets for Barcelona will go on sale May 6th, with tickets for Valencia going on sale May 13.

“Peace” second single press release

Depeche Mode and Mute confirmed the second “Sounds…” single pick today in a press release posted to the band’s official website. No mention of remixes or any other content specific information, so they are obviously saving the juicy bits for later.

Beatport presents Depeche Mode remix contest

Beatport.com is hosting a Depeche Mode remix contest for the upcoming single, “Peace”. Here’s how it works: 1) You pay $3.99 to download the parts for the song on Beatport.com 2) You do your remix, and submit it to the site 3) All submissions are then voted upon. The winning mix will be released on an upcoming Depeche Mode remix album on Mute. Head over to Beatport for more!

South American media is reporting tour dates *updated*

*** The news paper reports were mostly wrong *** Press from different parts of South America have been reporting a number of Tour Of The Universe dates, which include stops in Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Argentina and Brazil, and will take place from September 29th till October 20th. We cannot stress enough that we’ve not been able to get these dates confirmed (except the already announced Mexico dates), but check them, and the press reports after the jump.

“Peace” exclusively on BBC Radio 2

BBC Radio 2 host Chris Evans presented the single mix of “Peace” today, as part of his radio show. The slightly revamped version was presented as Depeche Mode’s new single, suggesting that the second “Sounds…” single might indeed hit radios and clubs very soon. The presentation (and track) can be heard via BBC’s iPlayer if you’re in the UK. Folks outside the UK will like have to wait a bit. The single is hitting store shelves June 15th.

Support the support - MOTOR “Death Rave”

We’re slowly, but surely getting in gear for the upcoming Depeche Mode tour, and thought it’d be a good idea to bring some what the other stuff fans out there will be hearing at the shows to your attention. First up is the fantastic Motor, with “Death Rave” - they first single from the forthcoming album, “Metal Machine”. It’s a stunning track, and having seen Motor live a fair few times, I can assure you, they are an absolutely fantastic live band. You can check out audio, and a live clip after the jump!

Depeche Mode just finished playing their first public live performance in three years. The free show - part of which will be shown on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! - took place smack dab in the middle of Hollywood Blvd, and drew crowds exceeding 14.000 by some estimates. The band performed a total of seven songs… setlist (and thus spoiler) after the jump! If you want to read the live TWITTER FOR THE MASSES feed, you can do so HERE!
