Feast your ears on Alex Metric’s remix Personal Jesus

The first public preview of the forthcoming remix collection, “Remixes 2: 81>11″, has made it’s way to Depeche Mode’s Facebook page. Here you can listen to Alex Metric’s excellent new mix of “Personal Jesus”. Also, keep an eye on the Facebook page, where you can expect weekly updates up until around the time of the single’s release (at least).

We’re very excited about the Mute Short Circuit Festival that takes place at the London Roundhouse between May 13th and 15th 2011. Yesterday afternoon Mute announced a series of new acts including: Richie Hawtin, Martin L Gore (DJ set), Moby (DJ set), Andy Fletcher (DJ set) plus Josh T Pearson playing versions of songs by Mute artists.

Depeche Mode remix collection gets announced and dated

On 6 June 2011, Depeche Mode will release Remixes 2: 81-11 on Mute. An inspiring collection of new and classic mixes of material covering their entire career, the album includes remixes of tracks from their 1981 debut Speak And Spell, through to 2009′s Sounds Of The Universe, and is the follow-up to 2004′s million-plus selling Remixes 81-04. These remixes reinforce Depeche Mode’s standing as one of the world’s most influential and innovative acts.

Vote for Dave in NME’s “best front-person evah” poll!

NME is hosting the mother of all polls, or so they would have us believe. Cast your vote for fave frontman. We’d suggest Dave of course… right now Robert Smith is in the lead… we can’t have that! ;)

Depeche Mode coming to Wii, PS3 and that Xbox thing…

After selling more than 100 million albums and singles worldwide, Depeche Mode is the most successful electronic band in music history, and next week, they’ll be bringing three of their fan-favorites to Rock Band 3. Depeche Mode Pack 01 will include “Never Let Me Down Again” from their 1987 album Music For the Masses, “Policy of Truth” from the 1990 album Violator and, from the same album, “Personal Jesus,” which is ranked on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and has been covered by Johnny Cash, Marilyn Manson and others. Full press release after the jump.
