Royksopp Ice Machine remixes out now

I know a lot of Depeche Mode fans really enjoyed Royksopp’s cover of “Ice Machine” and it’s very cool to see that some remixes from Ewan Pearson have just been made available. The cover was a studio version which features vocals from Susanne Sundfør for the Late Night Tales series. A special limited edition red 10″ vinyl was presses up for Record Store Day in the UK just this year and now we have some great remixes to add to it. Some of you will remember Ewan Pearson’s name for his brilliant remix of Enjoy The Silence back in 2004 and he gives their take an Ice Machine a nice little kick. Love that one mix is titled the “Dark Room Scene Remix”, just cool all the way around. Both his remixes, to me, keep pretty true to the original while giving it some bounce and a touch of, dare I say… funk? Well, a tad touch of it anyway. Check them and see what you think.

Royksopp Ice Machine Remixes

Beatport describes the remix EP: “Röyksopp cover Depeche Mode’s “Ice Machine” and get the remix treatment from Ewan Pearson, support from Ivan Smagghe, Andrew Weatherall, Michael Mayer, Prins Thomas, Todd Terje and Erol Alkan.”  Pretty cool to see that support. What I wouldn’t do to see Todd Terje get his hands on a Depeche track for a remix, oh man! He or Jimpster are way high on my shortlist, but enough about my dreams. A few years ago I did an interview with Ewan for the site, if you missed it, you can read it here.
