It isn’t often a band manages to capture my attention right off the bat, but Compact Space certainly managed it. Before learning more about the band, the debut single, “Push Push”, struck a chord - it felt both very familiar and entirely fresh. A feeling that was quickly explained when I learned who was behind this charming record.
After a short break, single of the week is back, this time featuring site faves, Motor on a collaboration with Julien K. As some of you may know, Motor remixed Depeche Mode’s “Precious”, a mix Martin Gore called his favourite Depeche Mode remix ever; and their own track “YAK” was one of the highlights of the pre-show music on the last tour. The band are currently recording their 3rd album, “Metal Machine”, due out later this year, and they’ve also just remixed Kanye West for his forthcoming single.
Visitors from Hungary would do well to tune in to MTV’s “MTV 100%” program Friday, when Das Shadows “Navigate The Menus” sees it’s worldwide TV premiere. In Croatia, the Morning Show on Radio Northwest will carry the premiere as well. Mark the date!
Das Shadow kicks off 2009 with a brand new teaser video, ‘live’ from their hide out at the real North Pole, in which they, in addition to new sounds also reveal the title of their forthcoming release. Enjoy!

Some times it’s a free download courtesy of the band; some times you will have to cough up some change to get your hands on the goodies!

Baron “Tons Of Money” Kessler, Depeche’s manager since the mid-90s, has gone together with Coldplay manager Dave Holmes to form Good Boy Productions - the first project being a Canadian festival called Pemberton Festival. Coldplay headlines this years installment. Any guesses who’s heading next years?

After months of speculation and rumours, it’s now official! Yazoo, consisting of Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet, are re-uniting for a UK headline tour in June, to be preceded by a box set of their collected works which hits the stores in May. Full press release after the jump!
