Depeche Mode to start work on new album!

Depeche Mode have finally set a date for when work starts on their forthcoming album, which will hopefully see the light of day in a years time. The band had a meeting just before Easter to make a rough time line and listen to demos. The meeting took place in Santa Barbara, and was also attended by the yet-to-be-announced producer of the album.
Sessions are expected to kick off in early May. More news as we get it!

goddamn I hope it’s flood or alan. no other producer seems to know how work with martin’s songs. if DM wasn’t already huge I doubt any of the post SOFAD albums would have even been noticed.

Playing the Angel was a good album but the first half of the album was far better than the end.

More dark sounds, strings and depth. PTA was a step in the right direction but needs more growl and reverb! Lose the instrumentals and self indulgent tracks like Macro and Damaged People…

we all need to hope, it seems a long time when we already have been waiting 3 years. Lets all be positive the guys still love there music and fans. Historically there should be a new album and tour next year.

Good luck DM with your next album! By the way I wanted to say many thanks (though it is impossible to say in words) to Alan for all he has done for DM. To my mind Alan’s departure was the greatest loss that happened in music for last 15 years. No wonder many people still are weeping. That was time of my life too. Devotional tour and SOFAD album are DM at its peak. I miss that richness in sound, that depth in words… etc. Even now when I am writing this I still can’t believe that I will never ever see DM with Alan again. It is cruel!
Finally, I hope to see DM once more in Latvia. Latvia loves DM!
