Dave Gahan Discusses Soulsavers with The Quietus


The Quietus has a new piece up with Dave Gahan where he gives them some insight on working with Soulsavers as well as some hints about the forthcoming Depeche Mode record. Dave describes his work with Soulsavers, “I know some of the songs will come across as quite dark and moody, but it was the most uplifting experience I’ve ever had making a record.” Regarding Depeche Mode, he says that they are “excited about making a record together.” Exciting times ahead DM fans!  Read the whole article after the jump!


 

Soulsavers announce new album featuring Dave Gahan


Soulsavers release their new album ‘The Light The Dead See’ through Cooperative Music/V2 Records on 21st May. Featuring vocals and lyrics by Dave Gahan, the record is the follow-up to 2009’s critically acclaimed album ‘Broken’. Recorded at various locations and mastered at Abbey Road, the record will be available on CD, LP and as a download.

New album tour sort of officially confirmed…


While the details of the upcoming Depeche Mode project is still scarce, it has at least been very firmly confirmed now – officially and in print – and in the name of charity. Martin Gore has donated a day in the studio, and a trip in the band’s private jet on tour, to The American Riviera Wine Auction benefitting Direct Relief. The winning bidder will be “joining Depeche Mode in their Santa Barbara studio for a full day in 2012 to watch as they record”, and later “board the band’s private jet, travelling with Depeche Mode to the next stop on their tour”, where tickets and backstage passes await. 6 Music Kraftwerk special with Daniel Miller


BBC Radio’s “6 Music Program” celebrates  the 30 year mark of  Kraftwerk’s “The Model” reaching number 1 with record label boss Mark Jones and Kraftwerk expert and Mute label boss Daniel Miller. Some of the tracks they played on the special came from names like Motor, The Normal, VCMG, and of course Kraftwerk.
