Alan Wilder has decided to perform a virtually free concert immediately following the main sale event in Manchester on Saturday 3rd Sept at Zion Theatre, as a thank you to everyone who is supporting the auction. For the lucky few who are registering to attend the live part of the event, it will possible to stay for this performance as long as the theatre capacity at Zion will hold the numbers. In order to cover PA and projection costs, we are asking an extra £5 only for anyone who wishes to remain at the theatre for Recoil’s performance. On 6 June 2011, Depeche Mode will release Remixes 2: 81-11 on Mute. An inspiring collection of new and classic mixes of material covering their entire career, the album includes remixes of tracks from their 1981 debut Speak And Spell, through to 2009′s Sounds Of The Universe, and is the follow-up to 2004′s million-plus selling Remixes 81-04. These remixes reinforce Depeche Mode’s standing as one of the world’s most influential and innovative acts.
Alan Wilder joins Vince Clarke on the list of people who’ve done remixes for the forthcoming Depeche Mode remix album, tentatively set for release early next year. The two Mode legends’ involvement signal a very interesting project is in the works. Also rumoured to be included in the project are YeasayerThe Yeah Yeah Yeahs!, Brandon Flowers and Arcade Fire. More details should be trickling through in the coming weeks.

Alan just emailed us to confirm that Martin is indeedilidoo appearing at the Recoil event in Santa Ana. Al writes: “We are very excited to bring you news of an exclusive one show-only guest DJ appearance at Recoil’s event at Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana, CA on 24th October. A certain Mr Martin L. Gore will be appearing to DJ at an aftershow DM/Recoil party. Martin has graciously agreed to appear just for this event to spin a collection of his favourite tracks. Many will be aware that Martin likes to DJ occasionally and reveal his enthusiasm for electronica.”
Depeche Mode web-guy Daniel Barassi posted a teaser video on YouTube, suggesting (should we say “confirming”?) that Martin Gore will be appearing at one of the Recoil events scheduled for the US this fall. Specifically, the Santa Ana show on October 24. The YouTube video shows Alan, then Martin with their respective initials; then the coordinates of Santa Ana followed by the date.
