Martin to appear on the upcoming Motor record

First came word Martin was featured on the recent Bomb The Bass record; then that he was working on new material with Vince Clarke and appearing alongside Alan Wilder at a Recoil event. Now comes word that Martin is going to be appearing alongside Gary Numan on the upcoming MOTOR record.

Martin to appear with Alan Wilder in Santa Ana! (no question mark)

Alan just emailed us to confirm that Martin is indeedilidoo appearing at the Recoil event in Santa Ana. Al writes: “We are very excited to bring you news of an exclusive one show-only guest DJ appearance at Recoil’s event at Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana, CA on 24th October. A certain Mr Martin L. Gore will be appearing to DJ at an aftershow DM/Recoil party. Martin has graciously agreed to appear just for this event to spin a collection of his favourite tracks. Many will be aware that Martin likes to DJ occasionally and reveal his enthusiasm for electronica.”

Martin to appear with Alan Wilder in Santa Ana?

Depeche Mode web-guy Daniel Barassi posted a teaser video on YouTube, suggesting (should we say “confirming”?) that Martin Gore will be appearing at one of the Recoil events scheduled for the US this fall. Specifically, the Santa Ana show on October 24. The YouTube video shows Alan, then Martin with their respective initials; then the coordinates of Santa Ana followed by the date. The video can be seen after the jump.

Martin back to work… with Vince Clarke!!

Yes, people, you read that absolutely right. Martin is working on a new project with former band-mate, Vince Clarke. So far very little is known, apart from one a single title: “Zaat”. The former Depeche Mode/Yazoo-man revealed the collaboration via Twitter, saying simply: “Am working on the track ‘Zaat’. Collaborating with Martin (Gore) (from Basildon)”.

Martin Gore selects 10 ‘essential tracks’ downloadable chart for Beatport

Martin Gore has hand-selected a list of 10 essential tracks for leading electronic music download site, Beatport.  The content of the list reflects Martin’s affinity for minimal and techno, which has also been on full display before each of Depeche Mode’s shows on the last several tours or in Gore’s intimate DJ sets.  The list includes tracks from Hobo, Wade Bennet and Benny Knox, among others.

Pre-show compilation now for sale on Beatport.com

Martin Gore’s mixtape style ‘pre show music’ compilations are now being made available for sale through online music shop Beatport. The first installment, a 10 track trip through the dark’ish side of electronic music, is available here for just 13 euros. Hit the jump for the full tracklist.

Martin Gore gets published… in French!

There’s been a myriad of books published in the name of Mode over the years, but nothing quite like this has been done before. French Mode aficionado Jugurtha Harchaoui has collected 87 of Martin’s best lyrics, translated them into french under the title, “Martin L. Gore - Lays” (which I hope is French for songs). Read on for the full press release, and an EXCLUSIVE glance at the front cover. On a personal note, I’ve seen the finished product, and it looks stunning. Really nice!
