Review: Compact Space “Push Push”

It isn’t often a band manages to capture my attention right off the bat, but Compact Space certainly managed it. Before learning more about the band, the debut single, “Push Push”, struck a chord – it felt both very familiar and entirely fresh. A feeling that was quickly explained when I learned who was behind this charming record.

Compact Space release debut single

Who’s Compact Space, and why should you care? Well, Compact Space is a band featuring Christian Eigner, Daryl Bamonte and Florian Kraemmer. The first two should sound familiar to any and all Mode fans. The trio started writing together in 2008. The first single ‘Push Push’ is available on iTunes and Amazon right now (link below), and a remix by Andrew Phillpott is still to come, and the album is due to be released at the end of the year. Both album and single were produced by Christian and mixed by Paul PDub Walton.

New video to premiere on the eve of Latin American tour start

A mexican newspaper today revealed that the new Depeche Mode video, directed by Eric Wareheim, will premiere today (Friday Sept. 25th) on the band’s official MySpace profile (link). The video is for the track “Hole To Feed”, and it was shot in LA back in August. It’s another band-less video, which has been described as everything from “brilliant” to “horrifying”. Whether or not the video will be followed up by a physical single release remains to be seen. Hit the jump for a truly horrifying video helmed by Eric Wareheim…

“Fragile Tension” picked for O2 TV ad campaign; then single!

“Fragile Tension” jumped the queue and is being lifted from “Sounds Of The Universe” as the third single. The surprising pick comes in the wake of O2 using the song for a TV ad in Germany.

Peter, Bjorn, & John remix DM

Swedish trio Peter, Bjorn, & John, who are currently supporting Depeche Mode in North America, have confirmed that they have remixed Fragile Tension for DM.
